A BRAVE little girl who has been described as a tower of strength was given a special surprise when she left hospital yesterday. Nichola Daintree, nine, of Amlwch, was whisked away from Ysbyty Gwynedd, Bangor, in a limousine and taken to the cinema in Llandudno Junction.

SATURDAY saw the second annual Tiara Ball held at St George's Hall in Liverpool to raise funds for Alder Hey Chil-dren's Hospital. Of course, all his teenage successes like Only Sixteen, Teenager in Love, Pretty Blue Eyes, etc were cover versions of American hits, but he sang them pleasantly enough in matinee idol style.

HE WAS the greatest of Venetian painters and by some accounts lived to the age of 99. But Liverpool's great gallery The Walker has never had any works by Titian -- until now. Yesterday, one of his early paintings, Supper at Emmaus, finally arrived at the gallery.
