THE inquiry into serial killer Dr Harold Shipman is to re- investigate his time as a junior doctor,it was announced yesterday. Shipman, who committed suicide, was a junior doctor at Pontefract General Infirmary,West Yorkshire,from 1970 to 1974. Concerns were expressed about one death at the hospital but the inquiry found it was unconnected toShipman.

I Feel Vindicated -Whistleblower
THE Home Office whistle blower whose allegations about the handling of east European immigration triggered the row said he felt vindicated by Beverley Hughes's resignation. Arriving at a disciplinary hearing with Home Office officials in Sheffield yesterday,Steve Moxon said the resignation had taken him by complete surprise.

Pc Accused of Driving Wrong Way On A55
A POLICE officer from Ellesmere Port is one of two officers serving with North Wales police who have been accused of dangerous driving. PC Philip Wright, 37,of Whitby, has denied dangerous driving on a section of the A55 in Flintshire last April. He has been charged with fellow North Wales officer,PC Nicholas Bedford,of Christleton,Chester, who also denies the charges.
