Class Act: War Years Make Living History for Keen Pupils ; a School Is Putting Relatives' Recollections of a Crucial Time in Our History to Good Use,As Gareth Bicknell Discovers

HISTORY came to life for the pupils of Penmorfa school when they learned about wartime North Wales. In the 50th anniversary year of D-Day, whenAllied forces landed in Normandy and started a surge across Europe that would eventually bring peace after six years of the Second World War, children at the Prestatyn School have been learning about the lives their parents and grandparents led during the war years.

YSGOL Merllyn's rug by squad won two tournaments in three days in a successful week for the teams. They won the Flintshire,Deeside,and Holywell Tournament which was held on the school's playing fields on Wednesday 21April,and two days later triumphed in the Flintshire Primary Schools Touch Rugby Mini League Festival in Shotton.
