SHARES in aerospace and defence group BAE Systems jumped yesterday amid speculation that Taiwan is looking at the purchase of Airbus A380 superjumbos. The company which has a 20% stake in Airbus was also helped by reports that it was lining up a large defence contract in Singapore.

Lobster Pot Firm Fails After Grant Rejected
TWO businessmen say a refusal by the Welsh Assembly to financially support a proposed lobster pot factory means they will have to pull the plug on the new venture. Cousins David and John Astley set up Sentinal Manufacturing Ltd at Llay,Wrexham, in May last year but never saw a single lobster creel come off the production line.
