Fitness Club's in Good Heart ; Week of Exertions Raises Healthy Sum for Charity
KEEP fit enthusiasts and their instructors at JJB fitness club in Bangor raised over pounds 500 for the British Heart Foundation (BHF) thanks to a series of events held last week. A pyjama day where all the clubshop staff dressed up in their bedclothes proved popular as customers enthusiastically parted with their hard-earned thanks to the spectacle.

LAST week's caption competition saw Father Peter Macleod-Miller, 43, from Barrow, Suffolk alongside his donkey Holly Berry whom he takes into church for morning prayers each day at the town's All Saints Church (left). ENTHUSIASTS turned up from far and wide to see some of the finest examples of Veteran and Edwardian vehicles gathered at Beaufort Park Hotel near Mold recently for a North West Veteran Car Club weekend. Owners from across the North West took along their motors, dating from 1903 to 1915, for a 42-mile route starting from the hotel in New Brighton then on to Holywell, Trelawnyd and Afonwen Craft Centre, before returning to the hotel in the late afternoon.

WHAT started as a hobby for Alex Mettler from Tavistock, Devon has now become a mission that has led him to Anglesey; Llanfairpwll to be precise. He and his colleague Gerry Woodcock recently published a book (www.tavistockwar memorial.co.uk) recounting the lives and deaths of the 119 men of Tavistock who fell in World War One and whose names are inscribed on the Tavistock War Memorial in Devon (pictured right).
