End of the Road Looms for Littlewoods Stores ; Famous Merseyside Brand Name May Disappear From High Streets

THE Littlewoods name could disappear from Britain's high streets within weeks, it emerged yesterday. The Liverpool-based company is in talks with a number of interested buyers for its stores chain, believed to include retail rivals Asda and Primark and various venture capital firms.
