TUG-OF-LOVE brothers Louis and John Tod have gone back to the United States. The boys were ordered by a high court judge to return to Florida after three failed attempts at staying in Liverpool.
Channel 4 Pledges Big Investment
CHANNEL 4 yesterday pledged to invest pounds 485m in its core network after a big leap in profits last year. The broadcaster said the sum was a record programming budget for Channel 4 and it was also planning to beef up its investment in digital services such as E4.
TWO winners shared last night's pounds 2.5m Lottery jackpot, organisers Camelot said. Winning numbers were 4, 28, 47, 22, 27 and 19 and the bonus ball was 41. In the Thunderball game, no-one won the guaranteed top prize of pounds 250,000. Numbers were 10, 20, 24, 26 and 31 and the Thunderball number was 14. No-one won Lotto Extra, in which numbers were 23, 16, 1, 33, 41 and 44.

Retiring President Hosts Centenary Event
THE Welsh Black Cattle Society (WBCS) rounded off its centenary celebrations with a weekend of auctions and arias. Some 500 WBCS members visited Berthlwyd Farm, Llanilar, near Aberystwyth, for a HCCsponsored open day at the home of retiring centenary president, Dai Jones, and his wife Olwen.
FARM organisations have reiterated a call for the Assembly to flex its muscles and devolve elements of the Hunting Act in Wales. NFU Cymru, CLA, FUW and National Sheep Association met countryside minister Carwyn Jones to press for amendments to the hunting ban.
