Pounds 160m Vision for City Revealed ; Central Station Plan Includes New 38-Storey Skyscraper

A SPECTACULAR pounds 160m shopping, residential and leisure development that will transform part of Liverpool city centre was unveiled yesterday. The scheme will include a 38-storey residential tower, a three or four star hotel, shops and offices and 350 car parking spaces behind Central Station.

Labour Apology to Ejected Walter, 82

THE Labour Party last night apologised to an 82-year-old member who was thrown out of its annual conference after heckling Foreign Secretary Jack Straw about the Iraq War. Veteran activist Walter Wolfgang was then stopped by police using powers under the Prevention of Terrorism Act as he tried to re- enter the conference venue in Brighton, and had his pass confiscated.

Murdered Model - Two Men Released

DETECTIVES investigating the murder of model Sally Anne Bowman have released two men without charge. Three out of the four men arrested in connection with her killing, including Sally Anne's 20-year-old ex-boyfriend, have been released with no further action.

TWO winners scooped last night's pounds 3.2m Lottery jackpot, operator Camelot said, winning pounds 1,628,360 each. Winning numbers were 46, 21, 32, 41, 43, 42 and the bonus number was 17. No one won Lotto Extra, in which the numbers drawn were 28, 47, 30, 0814, and 16. In Thunderball, there was one winner of the pounds 250,000 top prize, with the numbers 10, 18, 31, 12 and 01 and the Thunderball number was 05.
