Speed Led to Triple Death Crash

THREE people died instantly when a high-powered rally car ploughed through a wall and into a tree on a North Wales road An inquest heard that "significant speed was involved" in the crash which claimed the lives of 42-year-old David Echlin, his 16-year- old son James and driver Richard Parry, 23. His 1.9litre Peugeot 205 GTi mounted the pavement and demolished 25 metres of stone wall before crashing sideways into a tree.

A TEENAGER was found hanged by his school tie after a campaign of bullying which included a "happy slapping" attack by another pupil Shaun Noonan, 14, was headbutted, thrown into a ditch, stamped on and chased by thugs at Sutton High School in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire, an inquest heard yesterday. In one incident, a bully made a flying drop-kick into Shaun's back while others filmed the assault on a mobile phone.

Blair Threat to Hooligans' Parents

TONY BLAIR yesterday pledged to extend the use of orders forcing parents to control their hooligan children after it was revealed that tough powers handed to North Wales courts have rarely been used. The prime minister said more organisations will be allowed to apply for parenting orders and they will now slapped on the parents of children who show the early signs of "going off the rails".

Sex Charge Man Killed On Road ; Pensioner Died Hours Before Court Date

A PENSIONER died in an horrific road crash hours before he was to appear in court over an alleged sexual attack. Alun Davies, of Chester Road, Gresford, near Wrexham, was to be tried in Mold Crown Court yesterday over an alleged sexual attack on a teenager in toilets in the Tesco store on the Broughton Retail Park.

Three People Die in House Fire

THREE people died yesterday in a fire that ripped through their house. Fire crews were called to the property in Amberton Crescent in Gipton, Leeds, after reports of smoke coming from the building. Eyewitness Tony Charlesworth said people tried to help those trapped inside but were driven back by the intensity of the blaze.

Boy's Murder: Babysitter Sectioned

A BABYSITTER arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a six-year-old boy was sectioned under the Mental Health Act yesterday, police said. The body of James Brennan was found by his father after he was slashed to death in his bedroom in Chorlton, Greater Manchester.
