Mersey Troops Denied Fresh Rations ; 40 Days Without Fruit, Bread or Milk for Soldiers in Afghanistan Exclusive

FRONTLINE Merseyside troops fighting the Taliban in Afghanistan have not been provided with any fresh rations for 40 days. The Daily Post can reveal that 100 service personnel at one Forward Operating Base (FOB), in Helmand, have spent over a month surviving on freeze-dried ration packs without any fresh fruit, bread or milk.

City Mail Workers in Fresh Walk-Out ; New Talks Break Down

A THIRD day of wildcat postal strikes in Liverpool is likely to take place today, after negotiations over working conditions failed last night. Six hundred staff at several mail depots in the city, including the main site at Copperas Hill, staged unofficial walk-outs for the second day yesterday, protesting against new working hours.
