AN ABERGELE farmwill become a focal point of agricultural advance after being revealed as Wales's latest demonstration farm. Nant yr Efail farm, Betws-yn-Rhos, is the latest farmto join the network of Farming Connect Sheep and Beef Development demonstration farms in Wales, run by Hybu Cig Cymru.

Meredydd's 58 Years of Service to the Industry ; Farm & Country Issues

A NORTH Wales farm worker who has served the agricultural industry for an extraordinary 58 years of his life will be rewarded at the Royal Welsh Show next week. John Meredydd Williams, 72 of Bontnewydd near Caernarfon is the longest serving farm worker among the recipients short listed for this year's RWAS Long Service to Farming medal.

A CATTLE breeder from Welshpool was the inaugural winner of a trophy donated to mark Shrewsbury livestockmarket's first anniversary. Alan Powell, of Broniarth Hall, Guilsfield, won by gaining most points in the store cattle section over 12 months. Points were awarded after each store cattle sale for the four farmers getting the best price per kilo.
