THE ringleader of a gang found guilty of kicking Warrington father Garry Newlove to death has lodged an appeal against his conviction and sentence. The Crown Prosecution Service has confirmed that Adam Swellings, 19, of Crewe, who was locked up for life in February, will appeal against his conviction for murder.

A MAN had a miracle escape when he fell from 530ft-high cliffs at Beachy Head and had his fall broken by a narrow ledge, rescuers said. The 46-year-old was walking along downland in the Gun Gardens area of Beachy Head, near Eastbourne, East Sussex, when he slipped down a grass slope.
