TODAY'S opening of the pounds 1bn Liverpool One shopping development was last night described as "one of the most important days in the city's history". Speaking as workers put the finishing touches to the first phase of Grosvenor's 42-acre scheme, council leader Warren Bradley said it was a day the city had been waiting for for decades.
ONCE the dust has settled on Liverpool One, three men who will go down in the history books as the main movers behind the scheme. They are former Liverpool council leader Mike Storey, Grosvenor's project director Rod Holmes, and the council's former director of regeneration Charlie Parker.
