Pounds 5m Medical Research Unit for Liverpool
A NEW pounds 5m biomedical research unit is to be set up in Liverpool. Based at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital, the National Institute for Health Research Biomedical Research Unit, will be operated by the Royal Liverpool University and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust, in partnership with the University of Liverpool.

A MERSEYSIDE paramedic has been suspended after a two-year-old boy died eight hours after he examined him. Lewis Urmson-Brown fell off a climbing frame near his Runcorn home at 7.30pm on Sunday, June 15. The paramedic who attended the incident at the address in Medway did not refer the child to hospital for treatment. In the early hours of the following morning, Lewis was found by his parents unconscious and frothing at the mouth.
