Boat Rescue

A MAN was pulled from the Mersey near New Ferry, Wirral by two members of the public in a boat last night. Coastguards headed to the scene at around 10pm after reports that the man was up to his chest in water.

THE victim of an alleged Warrington murder has been named. Roy Waterfield, 56, was found dead by police in a house in the Leicester Street area on Wednesday.

Alsop High to Get Pounds 21m Update

A pounds 21m plan to rebuild a Liverpool school has been approved by councillors. Alsop High in Walton, which has about 1,700 pupils, was recently rated outstanding by Ofsted but its buildings, some dating back to 1926, are no longer up to scratch.
