ALMOST 20,000 civil servants across Merseyside took park in strike action yesterday. In the first-ever Budget day strike, members of the Public and Commercial Services (PCS) union held picket lines across the region in protest at proposed changes to their terms and conditions.
It saw around 18,000 staff from courts, Jobcentres, museums, and tax offices walk out. Peter Middleman, North West regional secretary for PCS, said the action was designed to protect public sector jobs.See the full content of this document
