AIRBUS is shrugging off global concerns about the sky high price of fuel by revealing that it may increase production of single aisle jets by a fifth next year.

Reports from France where the European plane maker is headquartered suggest that Airbus has told suppliers it could boost production to as many as 370 planes in 2005 and to 443 in 2006.
