TWO cows have been killed by the highly infectious - but rare - disease anthrax, in the first case in Britain for four years, it was confirmed yesterday.

The case, which occurred on a beef farm in south Wales, is the first time the disease has occurred in Britain since 2002, a Welsh Assembly spokeswoman said.
