Summary
ALLEY-GATING has been one of the big success stories of the current NRF programme in Liverpool.
The initiative involves fitting lockable metal gates to the ends of alleyways behind terraced housing. The gates allow access to the rear of houses to legitimate key holders/ residents while excluding opportunist criminals. Originally a crime reduction measure to tackle domestic burglary, the project has been successful in tackling other issues such as anti-social behaviour, damage, disorder, fires, dog fouling, rubbish dumping and fly-tipping.See the full content of this document
