IN the next few days a report by the Auditor General for Wales will land on the desk of the Local Government Minister. He will then take a decision which may have profound consequences for Ynys Mon county council. He faces a difficult decision.

We all have a part to play in making sure that the decision is not only right for the council, but also for the people of Anglesey whose patience has been sorely tested.

Further intervention in the workings of the council is in my view, inevitable.

There needs to be a stronger link between those appointed by the Minister and the work of the council's Executive and Scrutiny Committees....
