Summary

LAST month the nit-picking pen pushers of Brussels dealt another blow to a small but invaluable section of the business community. In their ceaseless search for something new to meddle in to occupy the myriads of useless busybodies in Brussels, they've turned their attention to the health food and holistic medicine shops which offer a vital alternative to our creaking Health Service. I'm a long-time convert to alternative medicine, and over the years have stumbled on quite a few home remedies which are far more effective for me than getting loaded up by my overworked GP with the drugs and steroids which, along with MRSA, actually cause about a third of our illnesses. I humbly offer them for your consideration, even though I've noticed that for whatever reason no-one ever believes me.

Still for what it's worth, I've completely cured mild diverticulitis by swigging pure aloe vera juice and also taking psyllium husks. St Johns Wort is marvellous for eliminating mild and unaccountable feelings of depression. A tiny dose of quinine at the first signs of a cold will avoid a sore throat, though you can't buy that without a prescription.
