DAVID FORRESTER (St Helens-Sutton) was a convincing winner of the European Junior trial race at Sefton Park and represents Great Britain in the European Cross Country Championships at Toro, Spain on December 9.

Forrester was always with the leaders and when last year's series winner, Lee Carey, broke away, tracked him before taking the lead on the final circuit to win by nine seconds in 20.55. It was a clear reply to the pundits who had failed to mention him as a contender in the pre-race publicity.
