AMANDA CROOK (Southport Waterloo) won the Merseyside Women's senior cross country title but the team title was regained by Liverpool Harriers, who deposed Crook's club in a close battle.

Crook was always in command, striding away to victory with over a minute to spare. Liverpool's Catherine Draper was second and Kirsty Longley (LPS) third. Amy Glen, Sarah Jackson and Michelle Murphy clinched the team win for Liverpool but Marina Ali lost out to Louise Hogg (St Helens-Sutton) for the veterans' award.
