WREXHAM manager Den is Smith was quick to spot the irony in having a player sent off and three booked on an afternoon when the club collected a pounds 10,000 cheque for winning last season's Third Division Fair Play League. And he was angry that Dennis Lawrence's dismissal for a professional foul and a fifth booking for captain Darren Ferguson will deny him two key players in a fortnight's time.
Lawrence was red carded for denying Michael Boulding a clear goals coring opportunity but Smith felt official Mark Warren got it wrong -and that it wasn't the first mistake he'd made during the afternoon.
