Luctonians ..............29 Caldy .......................32 MORTIMER PARK, the home of Luctonians RUFC, hosted a real cracker of a game this weekend with Caldy the visitors and eventual victors in National Two North.

Caldy edged out a strong, resolute Luctonians side who never gave in until the final minute of the game. The lead changed several times Luctonians were first on the scoreboard, after two minutes, when the impressive Cameron Hewitt supported an excellent break from Benjamin James and raced under the posts for a try, the conversion kicked by winger John Morris. Caldy hit back after twelve minutes when outside centre Gavin Roberts weaved past three defenders to score close in. Vasey converted for Caldy. Vasey then kicked a penalty which was matched three minutes later by Morris for Luctonians. Luctonians re-took the lead when Hewitt again found space in midfield to race for the line, Williams again converted. On the stroke of half time, several plays from the Caldy dragged the Luctonians players around and an excellent miss pass from Vasey found Mark Rylance who coasted in from the 22 metre line to leave the half time score 17-17.
