IS Wales one of the sickest countries in the world? One could be forgiven for thinking so after reading the depressing findings of the latest Assembly-commissioned survey into the nation's health.

More than 16,000 adults and 4,300 children took part in the study, and the findings include the following dismal claims: 48% of adults are on regular prescribed medication, 54% are overweight or obese, 18% are being treated for high blood pressure, 14% for arthritis, 13% for respiratory illness, 12% for back pain, 10% for a heart condition other than high blood pressure, 9% for mental illness, 5% for diabetes, and 4% for cancer.
