MATERNITY care at Liverpool Women's Hospital is "an exemplar of good practice", according to a report published today.

The unit's training and preparation are thought to be responsible for making labour safer for Merseyside mothers. Researchers from medical charity The King's Fund analysed care at birth units nationwide and interviewed midwives and obstetricians to assess how safe it was to give birth in England.
