INCREASING class sizes, tidying recycling banks less often, and only opening public toilets in busy seasons, are all among possible options to save a whopping pounds 16m from Gwynedd's budget. The council is also considering charging some pupils for school transport, in a bid to plug a major funding shortfall in the next three years.

The full scale of possible budget cuts being faced by the county was revealed in a document drawn up by officials, published yesterday.
