POLICE in North Wales dealt with nearly 1,000 calls in a 14 hour period between New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.

Chief Inspector Jeff Moses said between 5pm on December 31 to 7am on New Year's Day the Force's control room at St Asaph handled 457 emergency calls as well as 527 non-emergency calls.
