AFTER winning at Widnes in the semifinal, Hyde have won the right to stage their first Cheshire Cricket Knockout final, this sea-son sponsored by Jag-uar House of Liverpool. Hyde won by 59 runs at Widnes even though posting only a modest 143 themselves, James Duffy top-scoring with 49, while left-arm spinner I bra Ali returned an impressive 4-18.

Routed for 70 at Bowdon the previous day, the Widnes bats men were still suffering from shell-shock and slumped to 36-6 before wicket-keeper Ian Spencer (33) rallied the final total to 84. Hyde's promising teenage left arm pace man Tom Young claimed 5-11.
