Summary
IT makes perfect sense to extend the life of Wylfa nuclear power station and thereby shorten the downtime between its closure and the opening of Wylfa B. Otherwise, a gap of nearly a decade carries a serious risk that the expertise and skills at the plant will be dispersed across the country as workers move elsewhere.
This could mean that when Wylfa B is ready to come online, there aren't the people available locally to run it. Furthermore, there is also an inherent risk of a "brain drain" from the site as decommissioning of the existing reactor gets under way.See the full content of this document
