CALLS were mounting last night for a public inquiry on bullying in the Army after a report into the controversial Deepcut barracks painted a "devastating" picture of life at the camp.

The Surrey Police report was prompted by the deaths of four young soldiers at the Surrey camp -including 18-year-old Cheryl James,from Llangollen.

The Government yesterday announced there would be a House of Commons Select Committee to examine the deaths as well as broader issues of army training.
