THE Royal Liverpool Hospital is overhauling how it administers antibiotics to reduce cases of the deadly C difficile in the hospital.

From next week, new junior doctors in the emergency unit will be told to stop giving all patients a broad-based antibiotic, which can leave people more prone to C Diff but to tailor the drug more to suit each case.
