MORE than nine decades after it was opened as a bandstand on the Wirral seafront, one of Merseyside's best-loved theatres saw its final performance last night.

The sold-out show by Ken Dodd at the Floral Pavilion in New Brighton was the last before it is shut down for a complete revamp as part of the first stage of the long-awaited transformation of the seaside resort.
