ENGLAND coach Duncan Fletcher praised the efforts of his bowlers after a day of toil for no great reward in the second Test against Pakistan in Faisalabad.

The hosts were reduced to 73-3 at one stage but two partnerships involving captain Inzamam-ul-Haq - the first with Mohammad Yousuf and the second with the big-hitting Shahid Afridi - helped them to 300-4 when bad light ended play.
