FLEETS of private jets are arriving at North West airports as golf 's big hitters gather for the Open at Royal Birkdale.

At least 10 are expected at Liverpool John Lennon airport with more coming into Blackpool and RAF Woodvale at Ainsdale. Birkdale beach was even closed yesterday before being transformed into a helipad.
