FURIOUS Birmingham manager Steve Bruce admitted he was "baffled" by referee Barry Knight's decision to send off goalkeeper Maik Taylor for handball outside his area in first-half stoppage time at Portsmouth.

It led to a free-kick which Dejan Stefanovic drove past deputy keeper Ian Bennett and sparked a 3- 1 Birmingham defeat which rocked their European qualificationhopes, but Bruce blasted: "Why not just allow a goal?
