THERE was an increase in the number of foreign direct investments (FDIs) into the North West during 2008, according to new figures.

According to the Country Attractiveness Survey, carried out by accountancy giant Ernst & Young, there were 51 FDI projects in the North West in 2008 compared to 37 in 2007.
