Summary
FOR North Walian bands, the pull of Liverpool and Manchester has always been strong. Until the mid-1990s, the logic was simple - very few record company bods were going to bother visiting pubs and clubs west of Offa's Dyke when there were dozens of bands playing nightly a few minutes away.
It was no surprise, then, that there was a periodic mass exodus by North Walians. Even the odd Welsh-speaking act got in on the action - 80s indie heroes Y Brodyr started as the Modernaires, supporting English-language artists such as Madness and the Human League in the clubs of north-west England.See the full content of this document
