Summary
THE first major event of the new season at Hesketh Golf Club saw 143 competitors take part in the Captain's Easter Tournament. The event, which is a 72-holes strokeplay competition, started on Good Friday morning at 7.00am when the Captain, Bob Price, served a traditional cup of coffee and a small nip of whisky to the early starters. A cut was made after two rounds with 151 being the top 45 players and those within 10 shots of the leading score.
At the end of a tough and enthralling contest, 14-year-old Luke Rimmer came through to win and earn a place in the club's record books as the youngest winner of the tournament.See the full content of this document
