Summary
HAROLD HARDYJACKSON was enthusiastic about everything except for his given Christian name and was known to all, his family, friends and colleagues alike, as "Hardy".
Hardy-Jackson, who has died, aged 90, personified the latter-day Merseyside merchant class. Three of his family were Liverpool Corporation members, and were founding partners in the White Star Line through holding shares in Red Jacket, one of the world's fastest clipper ships. Hardy Jackson's grandfather was chosen by WG Grace as part of the first cricket team to visit the US, but he caught typhoid after the farewell dinner in Liverpool.See the full content of this document
