CHILDREN'S Minister Beverley Hughes was jeered and heckled by headteachers as she sought to defend the Government's policies on school testing and league tables.

Ms Hughes had to ask 400 delegates at the National Association of Head Teachers' annual conference in Liverpool to "let me finish" when they shouted her down during a question and answer session.
