I WAS in Madrid last year and went to a fantastic coffee house, or should I say chocolate house as everything came with chocolate.

The whole of the caf centred around two enormous pots of oil which continually fried doughnuts served with chocolate fondue to be dipped into whilst drinking a beer, coffee or one of their many speciality hot chocolate drinks. I have pinched the idea to put on the new menu at The Olive Press and served it as a dessert. The recipe we use at the restaurant is different, however this is a really quick version of a doughnut - you do not need any yeast and you will be surprised how much it is like the real thing.
