Summary

Horton Hears a Who! (Sky Movies Premiere, 6.30pm) The film versions of Dr Seuss's odd and much loved children's stories, The Grinch and The Cat in the Hat, did reasonably well at the box office, but nothing to write home about. Then along came this animated tale of an elephant who discovers a whole world of tiny people on a speck of dust, and it raked in a massive $296 million worldwide. With Jim Carrey and Steve Carell providing the voices, this is a funny and utterly charming movie.

The Bill (ITV1, 8pm) Tonight is the first of a six-parter. A man is beaten half to death and, because of the violence of the crime, the police assume they're looking for a perpetrator with a criminal history. One name keeps coming up in their investigations - Jason Devlin - but he's got no previous, he's being very helpful and he's got an alibi for the time of the attack. But slowly the Sun Hill officers realise that Devlin is a violent and remorseless monster and the fact that he's avoided capture up to now, seems to be down to his dad.
