A LEGAL expert last night predicted two Thai men facing the death penalty for murdering and raping a Welsh backpacker will have their sentence reduced to life imprisonment.

Mark Stephens, a barrister with law firm Finers, Stephens, Innocent, believes the Thai judiciary acted out of a "cultural feeling of national disgrace" following the death of Katherine Horton.
