Summary

I HEARD Tony Blair's speech about his achievements over the last decade of his era. As a full-time home carer, I feel as if I've become a second-class citizen over the last 10 years. What I can't understand is that, in a decade which has seen the Human Rights Act, no-one seems to have noticed the way carers of all kinds are being forgotten.

This century has seen the introduction of the minimum wage and rocketing house prices. MPs' salaries and expenses have gone up to keep up with house prices. None of the carers' wages or allowances or disabled care components have been upgraded to deal with the 21st century, the minimum wage, etc. I hope I have informed the public of this now.
