Summary
I'M WRITING to say how appalled and saddened I am to hear of the closure of the Historic Warships site. Along with the Western Approaches exhibition, the vessels stood as a monument to the modern era of our maritime history.
I have been to both these exhibitions several times. I thoroughly enjoyed the comparison between the two - seeing how operations were conducted by my forebears in WWII, and being reminded of the conditions myself and my shipmates had to endure during our time in the Senior Service.
