REGARDING the tragic demise of 21 Chinese cockle pickers and the sentencing of their gangmaster, surely the Government should be charged with aiding and abetting the crime for allowing illegal immigrants into our country to die.

Education, education, etc' Mr Blair should have said, duplication, duplication, etc. Expensive buildings and staff throughout Scotland and Wales for pseudo governments! We still have local and county councils. Why is the taxpayer paying for buildings, well paid and pensioned bureaucrats, etc, and what are they going to do? We've had no reductions, members or staff in Westminster and the EEC while Euro MPs are duplicating and dictating Westminster's erstwhile functions. A private firm would have been broke long ago.
