Summary
DURING October the British Wind Energy Association (BWEA) conceded on its website that it has for many years claimed an unreasonably large saving of carbon dioxide emission by windfarms. At the same time, announcing planning permission for a windfarm in North Devon, the Department of Business Enterprise and Regulatory Reform publicly used a CO2 emission factor much less than half of BWEA's untruthful value.
Does WAG investigate? Not at all. Instead, within days, First Minister Rhodri Morgan announced that the lands of the Forestry Commission, the property of the people of Wales, will now be devoted to building of more windfarms and environment minister Jane Davidson proposed reviewing Technical Advice Note (TAN) 8: Renewable Energy upwards, thus increasing the targets from wind.See the full content of this document
