MERSEYSIDE Police Federation would like to publicly recognise the hard work of Merseyside Police Authority, and in particular the treasurer and the chief constable, in delivering a budget that maintains current police officer numbers in the face of such a poor Government settlement and with the threat of government capping, should the council tax precept rise above 5%.
The maintenance and future growth of current police officers' numbers has been the number one priority of Merseyside Police Federation.
